DOM CEGLANY

Dom prywatny w okolicach Łodzi.

Powierzchnia użytkowa 129 m2.

Parterowy dom ceglany to obiekt dopasowany do nietypowego kształtu działki.

INFO ABOUT PROJECT

BRICK HOUSE

Single family house nearby Łódź, Poland

Usable area 129 sq m.

A single-storey brick house has its form adapted to the unusual shape of the plot -  the elongated body of the building hides under its hipped roof living quarters, a covered terrace and a carport. Openwork brick walls are a distinguishing feature of the house. The advantage of the project is its simple and clear form.

The concept of the house has been conditioned by a specific context - the location in the fruit orchard, deep in the narrow plot in the second row of buildings. Due to this fact, all the functions of the building have been integrated in one block. Both sides of the property have been culminated in, on the one side, a covered terrace, on the other - carport, both of which are also shaded by an extended line of openwork brick walls. Thanks to this solution, the way from the car to the entrance of the house is covered and protected.

The main entrance to the building has been designed from the east. A large kitchen is connected with a dining room (with the fireplace located there) and a living room, which leads out to the terrace. An office is located in the immediate vicinity of the living room. In the house there are also two bathrooms, two bedrooms (with a dressing room) and a pantry, all of them connected by a convenient corridor.

The house has a brick construction, combined with elements of steel structure. The structure of a roof has the shape of a wooden truss. The project involves the use of brick, white plaster and anthracite steel elements, with double T sections. The use of steel combined with the brick gives the building some characteristics of industrial architecture.

Features of sustainable construction used in the project: the orientation of the house in relation to the corners of the world and the principle of rooms distribution, high thermal envelope, economics of design solutions and the inclusion of biomass as a source of heating.
